Vivian Girls | “Lines” drawings

These paintings were inspired by Franz Kline's technique, incorporating black and white layers to erase or add shapes. The lines are actually composed of juxtaposed shapes in layers, creating the lines.

The transparency of the layers was a quality I was seeking, allowing the story of how the painting was made to shine through.
